Lovingly known as Oscar the Grouch, this handsome senior Bassett/Doxie has been in our sanctuary program for nearly 7 years.   Why, you ask?  He may look like an angel, but he is the devil in disguise.   He is a BITER.  He doesn’t discriminate, he has bit his foster parents, their friends and relatives and Arleen.  He was adopted out for a very short time and was returned when he would not let his adopters back in the house after a short shopping trip.  Oscar picked his human, and luckily for him it is his foster dad, Bob.  He loves his foster dad, and the feeling is mutual.  Oscar will spend the rest of his life with his foster dad, living peacefully with his foster fur-sisters Mel and Lola.  (You can live peacefully with a biter (as long as they let you in the house) by simply gating him/her in another room when company arrives.)

Oscar is not a drain on our sanctuary budget as he is very healthy.  Other than a little trazadone for vet visits, his only needs are preventatives and food.   If you would like to sponsor Oscar please visit our website, his favorite food, Taste of the Wild, is on our Chewy Wishlist
